RepreZen API Studio is available through two different installation options:

  • API Studio Desktop installs as a standalone desktop application on Windows, MacOS or Linux.
  • API Studio for Eclipse installs into an Eclipse IDE distribution, allowing you to use RepreZen's API design, documentation and development features in your primary Eclipse development environment.

Installing API Studio Desktop

  1. Make sure your system meets the requirements for installation as described on the download page.  You will need to install Java 8 or higher if you don't already have it installed.

  2. Visit the RepreZen API Studio download page to download API Studio.  If you don't have a download link, you can register for a free trial, and you'll receive a welcome email with the link.
  3. Download and run the automated installer for your platform.

Installing API Studio for Eclipse

  1. Make sure you have a compatible 64-bit Java installation and a 64-bit Eclipse IDE distribution.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Drag-and-drop the installer widget from the Marketplace listing page into your Eclipse IDE;
    • Alternatively, you can run the Eclipse Marketplace client using the Help > Eclipse Marketplace... menu command within your Eclipse IDE. Find the RepreZen API Studio solution, and install from there.
  3. After installing into Eclipse:
    • You'll be asked to restart your Eclipse IDE.
    • After the restart, you should see a wizard that takes you through license activation.
    • After successful activation of the built-in trial license, you should see a message box offering to activate the RepreZen perspective, which shows a dashboard in Welcome mode, with some suggested first steps.
  4. We recommend that you try RepreZen's default color theme and block highlighting.  Please refer to this article for details.
